Our Mission

Whether you’re a Bible scholar, Bible study leader, or passionate Bible reader, Everyday Exegesis exists to equip you to confidently apply the Bible through efficient methods. We accomplish this by using a multifaceted learning approach that combines traditional Bible study methods with an approachable, linguistically sound methodology that anyone willing to learn will benefit from.

Our Philosophy

Our belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God drives our careful attention to choices made by the writers of Scripture. God has wired us for communication, and communication always has an intended outcome. The biblical writers had a message that was not their own, and we believe that the lexical, grammatical, syntactic, and pragmatic choices they made were intended to move their intended readers to action. Research into linguistics and human cognition gives us the tools needed to better understand how these readers constructed meaning from their own reading of these texts, and how we as modern readers can competently bridge the gaps of time, culture, language, and worldview. Instead of treating hermeneutics, exegesis, and homiletics as separate disciplines, our cognitive approach to comprehension allows for a more integrated and unified model for the church.
